DataCamp is launching the Everyone Can Learn Python Scholarship as part of its mission to democratize data skills globally.
The scholarship aims to help students from all disciplines learn one of the fastest-growing programming languages in the world for free.
Adding Python to their skill set can be beneficial for students, and DataCamp wants to make it easier for them to get started.
Date
The scholarship is open for applications from September 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023. The winner and runners-up will be announced on or around May 1, 2023, and they will be directly contacted before this date.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Everyone Can Learn Python Scholarship, entrants must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be currently enrolled in secondary school, post-secondary school, or a postgraduate degree program.
Not hold a post-secondary degree in computer science, data science, data analytics, or a similar or related field of study.

Benefits:
The Everyone Can Learn Python Scholarship offers the following benefits to the winners:
- $5,000 for the winner to use towards further learning or formal education.
- $1,000 for each of the five runners-up to support their education.
Application:
To participate in the scholarship, applicants should follow these steps:
Fill out the brief application form, which can be found at https://www.datacamp.com/scholarship/learn-python/ from.
Once the form is submitted, create a free DataCamp account.
Complete the free Introduction to Python and Introduction to SQL courses to prepare for the challenge.
Use the newly acquired knowledge to complete the two challenges and submit the responses.
Participation in the scholarship is free of cost, and the contact information provided will not be shared with any third party.
Winner Selection Criterion:
The winner of the Everyone Can Learn Python Scholarship will be chosen based on the entrant’s performance in the scholarship challenge. The scholarship application page provides a complete breakdown of the marking criteria. The entrant with the highest score will be declared the winner.
In the case of a tie, DataCamp may choose a winner based on other criteria, such as XP.
